Physical Therapy
(PT), is the treatment of physical injury or dysfunction. Physical
therapists promote a greater ability to move and enjoy a more
active lifestyle by addressing the following goals:
Improve mobility and strength
Increase balance and proprioception
Prevent injury
Relieve pain
Physical therapists may use one or a combination of therapies including rehabilitative
exercises, manual or neuromuscular techniques, modalities like ultrasound or ice/heat and
patient-tailored home exercises to help with the following conditions:
Improve posture
Improve biomechanics
Decrease back or joint pain
Alleviate:
osteoarthritis
sciatica and other radiculopathies
osteoporosis
tension headaches or whiplash
TMJ syndrome

Facilitate post-operative recovery
Our physical therapists provide comprehensive evaluations and treatments to
facilitate healing and restore function. When appropriate, they will refer you to
a medical doctor.
Physical therapists at Studio Helix are licensed by the Massachusetts Board of
Physical Therapy Examiners and accept insurances with policies that cover out-of-network
healthcare providers (PPO or POS).
